Strategies for ADHD

Clonazepam and attention deficit disorder?

Hello.
I am prescribed 4 mg clonasepam(rivotril) for anxiety I also take200 mg Lamictal.
Ten years ago I was diagnosed bipolar 2.
I think also I have ADD untreated, that is just from what I have read about it
and it seem to be in context with how I feel and act.
The clonazepam works fine for the anxiety but I never feel calm of it.
Sometimes I even get irritated and angry.
I thought one should be calm and peaceful on tranquilizers.
Could this be a sign of ADD or do I need higher dosage of clonazepam?
I will mention that my benzo tolerance is pretty high since I abused benzos in the past.
(I keep the pill box at my mothers house and she gives me my daily dose)

That is already a high dose of clonazepam. As you probably know, these medications are best only for short term use, and tolerance quickly can become an issue. The downside of the high dose of clonazepam is that is can cause cognitive side effects, like difficulty concentrating or problems with memory. Though it is possible you have ADHD, the much more likely immediate problem is the clonazepam. Bring these concerns up with your doctor. Clonazepam, especially from such a high dose, cannot be stopped cold turkey, but should be tapered slowly to reduce the risk of withdrawal.
